Having something warm first thing in the morning has been my way of grounding myself before the day starts. It's one of the ways I take care of myself, and the warmth of the drink and the spices gives me a sense of calm and clarity.
Being sensitive to caffeine, I try to not go too crazy on the Masala Chai. I was sharing this with the group at the last retreat that I went to, so I finally got around to writing out my Turmeric Latte Paste recipe.
This keeps super well even at room temp for 1+ years and I also drink it as a plain tea with water when I'm feeling under the weather. The warming spices help sweat all the bad stuff out.
Ingredients
500g jar manuka honey
5 tbsp ground turmeric
1 tbsp ginger powder
2 tbsp ground cinnamon
1 tbsp ground clove
1/2 tbsp chilli flakes
1/2 tbsp ground black pepper
Touch of nutmeg
Instructions
Mix everything together to make a very thick paste and keep in a glass jar
To make in the morning, heat up plant milk until close to boiling. Add 1-2 tsp of the paste into the cup and stir with the hot plant milk
